One of the three large festivals in the Tajima area, Kawasuso Festival has a long history and is held every year in Hamasaka for three days in mid-July. The festival was first held back in the middle of the Edo era, when Hamasaka came under its own jurisdiction . In one day, about 3,000 fireworks are set off over the sea. During the festival, the whole town gathers together, follows the parading shrine, and dances together in the hopes of peace and safety.
